THE winners of the 2009 Excellence in Service awards have been named.
The presentation was held on Friday night at the Wauchope RSL Club and attracted close to 90 business and community members.
As well as the Service awards, the night also saw the inclusion of the Rotary Club of Wauchope’s Pride in Workmanship awards.
The two winners of this category were Peter Allen from Graham’s Mechanical Repairs and James Pike from the Wauchope High School.
Voting took place in the Excellence in Service awards throughout October.
The winners in the four categories were: Large business - Wauchope Pharmacy.
Small business - Wauchope Rural Centre.
Large business Individual - Shane Hanlon.
Small business Individual - Bruce Doherty.
Along with the Rotary Club, major sponsors of the night were TAFE’s Wauchope campus, the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Gazette.
Wauchope Pharmacy and the Wauchope Rural Centre were each rewarded for their excellence in service with an after-work staff function at Watermans Café courtesy of the chamber and an advertising package courtesy of the Gazette.
The two individual winners, Shane Hanlon and Bruce Doherty, each received a $500 training package courtesy of TAFE plus $500 cash each from the chamber.
Guy Jones provided the Welcome to Country while chamber president, Rob Hamilton, acted as MC.
