GREENS candidate for Oxley, Jeremy Bradley, farms land west of Wauchope.
He warned this week that coal seam gas companies could be mining on your property in the near future
"The NSW Coalition's new strategic land use policy raises more questions than it answers for family farmers in Oxley," he said.
"I am particularly alarmed by the Nationals support for the coal seam gas industry at the expense of farming families and communities.
"Experience in Queensland and overseas is that coal seam gas presents significant environmental risks to water supplies and can have a devastating impact on farming lands.
"Mr Stoner, the Leader of The Nationals and Shadow Minister for State Development, needs to come clean and tell us what, if any, of our farming land would be protected from gas mining.
"The National's policy is widely reported to be the product of the mining industry's spin-doctors, and has been influenced by senior National Party members with interests in coal seam gas extraction.
"It makes the average person wonder if a change of government will change anything," he said.
"As defined by the National's policy, strategic agricultural land is a very small subset of farmland in New South Wales.
"Most of our agricultural production would not be protected under this policy's narrow definition.
"If Mr Stoner took food security, and the welfare of his electorate seriously, then broader protection would be applied to our farmland", Mr Bradley said.
