The 2009 Relay had 74 teams registered and raised over $90,000 towards finding a cure for cancer.

Money raised from Relay for Life goes toward various Cancer Council funded research projects and to provide practical patient and carer support services.

This year, $14million will be spent on research projects aimed at finding a cure for prostate cancer, melanoma, rectal cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and leukaemia. Cancer Council is also working with the local community, through the Hastings Cancer Network, to identify specific local service needs such as in-home support and patient transport services.

Registration for the Relay is easy, you can either register on line at www.relay.cancercouncil.com.au and follow the prompts to Hastings 2010 or phone 6659-8400 and organise a registration form to be posted or faxed to you.

Relay for Life is driven by the community and help is needed to plan the 2010 Hastings event.
