About 9.30pm Friday police found Emily Wotherspoon and her baby at an address in Coffs Harbour after information received from members of the public.
The mother and baby have been taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital for observation. They did not appear to have any serious medical issues.
Police have spent almost two days searching for Ms Wotherspoon after she left a hospital in York Street, Taree with her one-day-old baby girl.
The baby was under observation in the special care nursery at the hospital and police had significant concerns for her welfare.
