IT'S SAFE to say that its been a long time between razors for Craig Lockwood, Ned McKelvey and Daryl Watson.
The Timbertown staff have more than their fair share of facial hair and it's all going as part of the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave.
World's Greatest Shave is one of the country's biggest fundraising events with money raised going towards to support patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.
Timbertown bullocky Craig Lockwood came up with the idea for the blokes to part with their much-loved facial fuzz.
"I was thinking about doing it a couple of years ago but this year I roped the boys in," he said.
"It's definitely going to be interesting to see us blokes without the beards.
"There'll be a few funny tan lines and unhappy partners I'm sure," he said.
Apparently none more-so than Ned's wife who hasn't seen a clean-shaven Ned in 28 years.
"Ned's probably scratching his head wondering how he ended up having to shave his beard off," Mr Lockwood said.
"I think the partners get attached to a good beard so we'll just have to make sure we can raise as much money as possible and make it worthwhile."
The bearded trio will lose the beards at Timbertown out the front of Maul & Wedge this Saturday from 2pm with the shave beginning at 2.30pm.
There will be a sausage sizzle and refreshments available with all proceeds going to the Leukaemia Foundation.
Judy Lockwood and Robyn Williamson from Jennifer's Hair Salon will be cutting the hair with the beards expected to take a bit longer than the hair on their heads.
"There's not much left to take off the top."
