SUMMER Harvest organisers are encouraging all under 20s to get in and buy their tickets before the end of the month to show their support the festival.
Featuring world class acts such as Aria nominee Little Birdy, plus Children Collide, Urthboy and more the under 20s festival is the biggest under 20s event in the Hastings.
Due to the calibre of performers, organisers must meet a certain quota of ticket sales by November 1 to secure the acts for the inaugural event.
“Over the school holidays the team was on the streets handing out flyers and the reaction for Summer Harvest has been extremely positive,” said organiser Scott Mesiti.
“Local youth have been screaming out for an event such as this and the regions music culture is definitely growing, but we need to see strong ticket sales this month or face the possibility of having no choice but to cancel the event.”
With strong support yet to translate into bookings, organisers have called on the local community get behind the growing scene to ensure a long term future for safe live music youth events.
“At Sand Events we see Summer Harvest as the first under-age event of many, but in order to host more events we need to make sure this one is successful and it's really up to the kids and their parents to support it - and what a great Christmas present,” added Mesiti.
Sand Events always encourage community input in their development and as such will hold the Sand Events Opinion Sessions by attending all schools in the Hastings area over the coming week.
Youth will be able to meet and chat with the Sand Events team about Summer Harvest, future events, the local music scene and bringing more opportunity to the community and local youth. Sand Events also have a brief online survey at www.fotsun.com/summerharvest providing an opportunity to have your say.
Summer Harvest is an under 20s drug and alcohol free event held on December 13 at Port Macquarie Panthers. Tickets are on sale now for $65 + booking fee. Tickets are strictly limited and will be available at www.fotsun.com, Port Macquaries Little Red Vamp and Saltwater Wine Surf Centres throughout the region.
