THE Wauchope and Beechwood communities are rallying around the Gill and Glass Fire Appeal.
Barry and Vera Gills home was completely destroyed by fire on Saturday January 23 while their neighbour, Prue Glass's home, received extensive damage when the house fire spread next door.
There have been many offers of support since the fire with many people already donating much-needed items to both families.
All donations are being gratefully accepted.
Beechwood resident, Barry West, has organised for the Holiday Coast Credit Union to open an account called the Gill and Glass Fire Appeal and any donations should be lodged at any branch of the credit union.
Meanwhile a monster fundraiser is being planned for Sunday March 7 at the Beechwood Sporting Complex.
All money raised from this event will aid the Gill and Glass families.
There will be food stalls, barbeques and a fully licensed bar operating on the day along with raffles, stalls and auctions.
Slippry Sirkus will be available for face painting and stilt walking demonstrations while there will be a jumping castle for children.
The popular country music band, Cedar Creek, along with local musicians, Nashie, Felecia Machin, Allan McGovern, Angus Gill, and Russell Churcher will also be performing.
Donated items to sell or auction at this event are also welcome.
To arrange a pick up or for more information on this event contact Barry West on 6585-6126 or 0418 433 418 or Pete Daniels at the Gazette on 6585-2355.
