TIMBERTOWN will be offered for sale to Sydney-based heritage enthusiasts, David and Alison Waite.
That's one of three recommendations that was expected to go up before Port Macquarie Hastings Council last night (Wednesday).
The recommendations before Administrator, Garry Payne are:
1. That Council proceed with the exchange of contracts for the sale of Timbertown Heritage Theme Park to David & Alison Waite.
2. That the General Manager be delegated to sign the contract and other related documents under Council seal on behalf of Council.
3. That a final report be presented to Council upon settlement of the sale of Timbertown Heritage Theme Park.
In the report tabled last night, council said the final sale price of Timbertown is currently the subject of commercial in confidence provisions and cannot be disclosed in this report. "Details relating to the final sale price and the conditions of sale are the subject of a confidential attachment that has been provided to Council's Administrator separate to this report.
"(It) relates to information that would, if disclosed, confer a commercial advantage on a person with whom the Council is conducting (or proposed to conduct) business.
"As stated, the funds from the sale of Timbertown will be used within the Wauchope community, on yet to be determined projects."
Council also had the option of not adopting the recommendations but that would have meant that 'the only viable alternative is for Council to close Timbertown', the report says.
