WAUCHOPE RSL turned their fortunes around on the weekend to put in a cracking performance against Macquarie Hotel in a one-sided affair.
Macquarie Hotel won the toss and elected to bat on a green Oxley Oval wicket and the Wauchope RSL bowlers hitting a better line.
Led by Jason Blythe and Matt Miller who took three wickets a piece for just eight and 20 runs respectively the Wauchope RSL team tore through the Macquarie batsmen with only two players hitting double figures.
Blythe was at his brilliant best at one stage and just fell short of claiming a hat trick.
The RSL boys showed great commitment in the field led by Aiden Tredinnick who kept up to the stumps assisting Ben Hutchins to his two wickets for 18.
Young 15-year-old Ben Cutler in his debut year in first grade continued to shine with the new ball restricting the run flow and taking the opening wicket.
After some quick fire runs through opener Blythe (18), Wauchope chased the moderate total of 91 in 19.4 overs and won with six wickets in hand.
Luke Hutchins put on a solid performance and remained unbeaten on 33 and was well supported by Tredinnick (11 n.o.), Blake Lyon (18).
