BONNY Hills-based Williams and Associates Lawyers and Conveyancers has sponsored the nippers' water safety crew with rash shirts and caps for the current season.
Scott Williams presented the rash shirts and caps to the club on the first club day earlier this month.
The bright red gear features the businesses name and is a great boost to the club.
Scott, who is also a patrolling member at the club, said the sponsorship was a great way for the business to get involved in the community.
Branch carnival
THE Wauchope Bonny Hills SLSC nippers will host the first mid north coast branch carnival for the 2005 season on Sunday.
The club welcomes the new sponsors for the carnival - Rainbow Beach Living.
Up to 270 competitors from across the branch will converge on Rainbow Beach for the day-long carnival which kicks off at 8.30am.
The club is also expecting a strong parent turnout.
An organising committee involving the nipper committee and branch delegates is organising the program as well as the catering requirements.
Strong competition among competitors is expected.
There will be a number of local club representatives competing on the day.
As well as the carnival, the event is also a selection trial for the under 15, 17, 19 and open competitors for the mid north coast team. That team will be contesting the NSW Interbranch Championships at Fingle Beach in December.
With the second club day held last Sunday another roaring success, all attention is now focussed on the branch carnival.
Anyone interested in helping out at the branch carnival can contact the Gazette office on 6585-2355.
Boats on the water
AT least four of the club's boat crews will be heading for Cudgen Headland this weekend for the first and second round of the North Coast Boat Premiership.
Last year our club was the runner-up in the club pointscore - a tremendous effort. All crews were runners-up across the board.
Bronze medallion
ANYONE interested in gaining their bronze medallion should contact any surf club member.
One group of 15 is already well underway while a second squad can be organised.
Daniel Gill is currently leading this first squad.
