THE Wauchope Women's Bowling Club has ended an 11 year drought after claiming the Pennant Four flag.

Hastings Haven Women's District Bowling Association president, Maureen Bradford and secretary, Carole Graham, helped the winning team of Heather Bartlett, Annette Jones, Jutta Hall, Lil Allen, Judy Coombes, Pat Coombes, Tina Hamilton, Rosie Ansley unfurl the flag at the Wauchope Country Club greens last Thursday.
Club president, Jutta Hall, accepted the flag on behalf of the team.
The winning team members also accepted their badges.
"The last pennant flag was won in 2002 and so for president Jutta and the awesome team the drought has broken," said the district president.
The pennant side now goes into the play-offs at Wingham.
Meanwhile the club celebrated its 61st birthday last Thursday with a good roll-up of club members.
Winners on the day with a fan of the cards were Doris Mckinnon Tina Hamilton and Rhonda Schubert. Lucky losers Val Byrnes, Joyce Boyd and Pat Coombes.
The raffle was 1st Krys Flanagan 2nd Pat Coombes 3rd Marion Longabardi.
At the completion of the bowls the district executive presented the pennant teams with the grade 4 flag and individual pennant badges followed by the cutting of the birthday cake.
The day was enjoyed by all despite the rain beginning to fall. Thanks to Bistro staff who supplied us with a nice warm lunch on a cool day.

Numbers down a bit on Saturday but great bowling on the day with eventual winners Karen Lewis, Lynne Hosking and Lil Allen.
