Lauren and Mark Waugh said Olivia Grace Waugh was born at 33 weeks and weighing a tiny 1630 grams. Her head circumference was just 29cm and she was just 39cm in length.
"But for someone so little, she holds so much strength and we are both very proud of how brave she has been," Lauren said.
"Olivia was born quickly by emergency C-section in John Hunter Hospital after we were airlifted from Port Macquarie Base Hospital. Olivia was born on April 17 but was originally not due till June 3.
"We are now in Port Macquarie Special Care where Olivia is growing stronger every day.
"We would like to thank all the staff at the base hospital, John Hunter hospital and our family and friends who have expressed so much love and support through this difficult time.
"Olivia is a little champion who is melting the hearts of everyone who meets her."
