Hastings Business Women's Network joins excellence awards

THE Hastings Business Women's Network (HBWN) is proud to once again support the Wauchope Excellence in Service Awards.

This year the HBWN is hosting a special category - The Hastings Business Women's Network Tall Poppy Award.

HBWN President, Kelly Lamb, said the Network was calling for applications from female business owners who have owned their own business for at least 12 months.

"We're looking for local women who have demonstrated particular business aptitude and fostered growth and development in their business," Mrs Lamb said.

"The winner will have also made a significant contribution to the local community, the business community and the economy."

The inaugural award is open to HBWN members and non-members alike, and the judging panel will represent a cross-section of women in business from all over the Hastings.

Mrs Lamb said the judges will be looking for someone who exemplifies what the HBWN stands for - someone who has achieved success in business while supporting those around her.

"The HBWN is all about growing tall poppies by encouraging, empowering, educating and engaging women in business as they strive for success," Mrs Lamb said.

"This award is a great way to nurture these qualities in the local business community while also providing well-deserved recognition for the talented business women we have here in the Hastings."
