Iconic Comboyne Catholic Church goes under the hammer

THE beautiful and historic Comboyne Catholic Church building will be auctioned later this month.

The church, located on the corner of Thone and Hill Street, Comboyne, is positioned on two allotments that total 2251 square metres.

The Our Lady of Mr Carmel Church has been the gathering place for the Comboyne parishioners since the early 1900s.

Built circa 1917, the Church features timber flooring, beautiful vaulted timber ceilings and exudes a sense of the spirit with peaked arched stained glass windows and all the authentic hallmarks of the era on display.

The Church land is zoned RU5 Village, which with consent, allows extensive choices of future usages.

Kevin Debreceny Real Estate will offer the historic church for auction under instructions from the trustees of the Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Lismore.

The Church is scheduled to be auctioned on Saturday July 21 at 11am on site.

Mr Debreceny said that in his 40 years of real estate practice it is the first church that he has had the privilege to offer to the marketplace.

"The enquiries in the early part of the marketing campaign have been strong," he said.
