Amiercan bike riders' donation to RDA

THE local Hastings chapter of the American Motorcycle Club recently presented a $500 donation to Riding for Disabled.

Club spokesperson Mick Schneider said the Club consists of over 35 'guys and gals' who get together for family oriented social outings.

"We love riding our motorcycles, and we hold lots of social events, all with the emphasis on our family," Mr Schneider said.

"We raised this $500 at social events and barbeques, and we're really delighted to give it to the RDA as a contribution towards their significant costs of operation.

"Our Club members really value the service the RDA provides, and we're glad to help."

Kevin Waldron, spokesperson for Wauchope and Port Macquarie Riding for Disabled, said the donation from the Motorcycle Club will go toward the expense of maintaining the association's 12 horses.

"Its hard work maintaining our steeds. We do it because Riding for Disabled makes such a difference to the lives of our clients. At least 45 local people have much richer lives thanks to everyone who helps keep this service on the go," Mr Waldron said.

"Our 50 clients, 12 horses and 22 volunteers, are very grateful to groups such as American Motorcycle Club, for making it possible for us to keep this great service going."
