MAYORAL candidate Adam Roberts believes transparency, leadership skills, relationship building expertise and a pro-active and positive outlook are the key personal traits required by the next mayor of the Port Macquarie Hastings.
“This community has a massive opportunity to press the reset button and start afresh, no baggage, no reliving the past, just a full-on fresh approach and positive attitude,” he said.
Mr Roberts believes that he represents the future of the Hastings.
“I love the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
“In the case of electing a new council and mayor, I as a community member want to see a fresh approach and some energy and enthusiasm on council, especially in the role of mayor.”
Mr Roberts announced his candidacy back in August 2010 and has campaigned steadily in that time, tackling key fundamental issues such as advocating greater transparency, efficiency and accountability within council.
“I don’t want to get elected just because I have campaigned for two years. I’d love to genuinely take the mayoral role based on my steadfast message of bringing a sound vision and plan for the area.
“God knows we need someone with a plan, not just experience in a past life.”
