IT may have been Beechwood's 90th football club reunion, but Long Flat took the match day honours with a strong 48-10 win over the Shamrocks on Saturday.
Played in front of a buoyant and vocal home crowd, the Shamrocks played strongly throughout the contest but lapses in concentration proved costly.
Dragons centre Josh Henry proved a handful crossing for four tries - he opened the scoring with a try after 19 minutes - while fullback James Mumford crossed for two first half tries.
Corey Millgate also posted a try in the first half while Mumford booted three first half conversions to help his side to a 22-0 half time lead.
Two minutes after the restart, Dragons replacement Mitch Johnson scored an unconverted try before hardworking and reliable Beechwood forward Kurt Nicholson got a huge roar from the crowd when he scored on 47 minutes.
But the Dragons pressed ahead with Henry posting a further three tries while Johnson scored his second try.
Mumford booted a further three second half conversions before another strong Beechwood performer, Amos Donovan posted his side's second try of the afternoon just four minutes from fulltime.
Donovan converting his own try to leave the full time score at 48-10.
For the Dragons, Vance Byles notched 19 hitups while Rob Costigan and James Keaton completed 16 each.
In the tackling department, Rob Costigan 34 tackles, Jason Costigan and Trent Dixon 23 tackles each were the main contributors.
