The Wauchope Rotary 70s, 80s Countdown Dance Night at the Wauchope Showground has raised over $5,000 for the Palliative Care Unit at Wauchope District Memorial Hospital.
Considering all the moves that were being performed on the night it was a wonder no one required medical assistance as 'Even Stephens' transported the crowd back to the magical musical era.
The evening has been largely heralded as a huge success not only for the money raised but for the enormous amount of fun and frivolity involved.
The organising committee have been acknowledged for all their hard work in bringing the evening together; President Paul, Patti, Margaret, Kathryn and Michelle McDonald as well as David and Pauline Stephens for providing the event's pivotal entertainment.
Major Sponsors included: M & S print, Radio 2MC, 2WayFM, Holiday Coast Credit Union, Wauchope Travel, Red Shed Hire, Sundial Dental, Wauchope Gazette, Wauchope Show Society as well as the many prize donors.
There was great representation from Mid North Coast Local Health, teams from Wauchope and Port Macquarie as well as many locals.
The dancing was "vibrant" all night but no more than when the Macarena was played...and Nutbush City Limits.
According to sources, the girls from Mid North Coast Health totally dominated during Tina Turner's classic party anthem.
"For those that attended you already know what a great night was had by all and for those that didn't then hopefully you will enjoy the photos and plan to be in attendance next year," said Rotarian Neville Parson.
"A great big thank you to Libby Stewart at the Wauchope Gazette and Sharon Fuller and Lynn Lelean from the Media Unit at Mid North Coast Health for all of their support in the promoting of this Fundraiser."
And for their dance moves.
