A man will appear in court today charged with the alleged attempted murder of a woman in Rolland Plains, near Port Macquarie.
Just after 9.30am on Saturday, police and other emergency services were called to a property on Rolland Plains Road where a 67-year-old woman was found lying unconscious.
It is alleged she had suffered injuries to her head and neck.
She was conveyed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
A 44-year-old man was also found at the Rolland Plains premises with injuries.
He was treated at hospital before being arrested by police and charged with attempted murder.
He was bail refused. He was set to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today [Monday 20 August 2012].
