Mr Brewer, and his associate Will Bligh, addressed around 65 guests at the Hastings Business Enterprise Network on Thursday morning at Rydges.
Mr Brewer said that while 96 per cent of small to medium business enterprises are online, only 19 per cent of those have a strategy with “a clear focus on what their intended gain is”.
In our market Mr Brewer said a high percentage of people who look for information online take action on the information and products they are reviewing.
“So it’s critical to make sure your display is right, that your mobile space is responsive, updated and engaging,” he said.
Mr Brewer also said marketing in the modern suite of digital assets, is “not about the stuff you make, but about the stories you tell”.
Another part of the morning’s exercise was making guests aware of the Port News and Wauchope Gazette's free service and “business health check” which reviews some of the key areas of your business and how it is performing in the digital age.
Fairfax Media is the publisher of the Port News, Express and Wauchope Gazette.
