Coach Trevor Lindsay said the side became minor premiers, scoring 66 goals and conceding only 6, with two of those goals scored against them occurring in their 2-0 loss grand final loss to the Port Saints.
Having defeated Port Saints twice in the competition rounds, the Wauchope girls went into the grand final feeling confident, "but it wasn't our night", the coach said.
"On the night Port Saints were the better side."
The Waratahs had been the best side in the competition and were "a really good team across the board, which played exceptional soccer on most nights", Lindsay said.
The Waratahs were the only Wauchope team to make the grand finals this year, and their performance was all the more impressive being an under 18 side, with its youngest player aged only 14, he said.
The coach said he wanted "to say thank you to the girls for being such a quality team and being a pleasure to coach".
