This special initiative of the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia (BCIA) has raised more than $1.47 million since 1996 to support clinical trials research for the treatment, prevention and cure of breast cancer.
This year Wauchope Country Club will join with over 250 golf clubs throughout Australia to show their support for this important research by holding a Tee Off event.
Secretary Barbara Mort said the club and its members are committed to supporting research that can improve the lives of women.
"Breast cancer has touched the lives of many of our members. We are all happy to support such a worthwhile cause through the simple enjoyment of a game of golf," Mrs Mort said.
"It's a great event - everyone dresses in pink and gets into the spirit of the day."
Victoria Tayler, special projects officer of the BCIA, said Wauchope Country Club and its members are to be commended for their commitment and support.
"There has been a 29 per cent decrease in the number of deaths from breast cancer in the last 20 years largely as a result of clinical trials research," Ms Tayler said. "Wauchope Country Club and its members are making a valuable contribution to research progress and helping us work towards a future free of breast cancer."
The BCIA is the fundraising department of the Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group.
