DRY but very pleasant weather greeted 114 players on Tuesday, November 4 (yes Melbourne Cup Day), for the Wauchope Men's Veteran Golf Club's Two Man Stableford Multiplier event. The sponsor for the day was Kazac Civil and the club and members sincerely thank them for their sponsorship.

Recent maintenance on the greens proved a challenge for some, as the greens were a little longer than normal but tracked pretty true.
The condition of the overall course at the moment is excellent and will become even better in the weeks ahead following the aerating of the fairways. Congratulations and thanks go to all of the ground staff.
Winners on the day were Fred Ertl and David Crees with a hot 94 points.
Runners-up were Warren Brentnall and Ross Bird on a c/b with 83 points.
In third place were David Pettitt and Gary Duncan and fourth place went to David Cairns and Bruce Walker with 81 points on a c/b.
Nearest the pin competition winners were:
4th hole, A grade Kevin Wilcox 1.45m, B grade Barry Watson 1.3m, C grade John Barnaby 2.24m.
18th hole A grade Eric Cork 6.4m, B grade Ralph Newell 10.2m, C grade Peter Goldsmith 12.5m.
In the ball comp there were 17 teams (34 players) with scores down to 70 who won a ball.
