THE Everingham family has expressed their deep gratitude to all who have been involved in the Pedal for Pat fundraising drive that has raised well over $47,000.
At the end of September, a group of 15 bike riders set out from Wauchope to Manilla covering 285 kilometres.
The fundraising ride was organised by the Everingham family to pay tribute to five -year-old Patrick Coombes, who succumbed to cancer this year, and to raise funds for Little Wings, Bear Cottage and Ronald McDonald House-Westmead; the organisations that helped the family following Patrick being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in July 2013.
The Pedal for Pat Solar Raffle was also a great success with lucky winner, Amanda Maxwell of Wauchope attaining a 1.5kw grid connect solar system and installation. As part of the raffle there were three 100 Club ticket winners; Matt Model, Alex Clark and Di Page.
"We just want to thank the community, the sponsors and all the riders who took on the challenge," said family representative, Jess Everingham.
"The extraordinary amount of money that has been raised will go towards helping families in need just like they helped our family.
"Our deep thanks are extended to Harelec for donating the 1.5kw grid connect solar system and local solar installer Ged McCarthy of Energy and Space Solutions for donating his time and expertise to install it for the lucky winner."
The sentiments of gratitude have been echoed by Patrick's grandfather Rod Everingham.
"Thank you to our extraordinary community for their support, love and financial engagement in raising money for these wonderful organisations who have helped our family," said Rod.
