Comboyne Community Preschool has been serving their local community for 25 years after a group of families saw the need for a preschool service and decided to do something about it. In these days of increasing corporate ownership of early childhood services, the level of resources and the quality of early childhood education that continues to be offered at Comboyne is a great testament to the community.
Comboyne Community Preschool is a non-profit, community based preschool keeping the focus on providing a quality early education for children where every dollar is put back into the preschool.
The Director, Gloria Lindsay, said that "Being a part of such a supportive community like Comboyne is very rewarding. This year has been particularly financially challenging with historically low numbers of enrolled children, but the support from the community, including organisations such as the Lions Club of Wauchope has been fantastic and will see us through."
Comboyne Community Preschool and other outlying preschools face a further challenge when the transition phase of the NSW state preschool funding policy ends.
This will see significant reductions in funding and Comboyne Preschool is seeking sponsors who are interested in supporting them in some way. If you are interested, please phone Gloria Lindsay on 6550 4044 (Tuesday and Thursday) or Donna Coombes on 6550 4362.
