Sixteen men and women gathered at Andrews Park last week for the first series of training sessions run by coach Marc Minor, with club president Peter Daley on hand to supervise and help run the drills.

Fitness and communication were issues early on but they will improve as the playing group gels ahead of the Lower Mid North Coast zone rugby season.

Daley was pleased to finally be under way.

"I'm just astounded at the turnout for the very first Wauchope Thunder training session," he said.

He couldn't wait to get on the park for the season:

"It's about growing rugby in the zone".

The club now trains Tuesdays and Thursdays at Andrews Park, starting at 6pm.

New players are always welcome.
