NOT to be confused with the Australian cricketer bearing the same name, Nathan Lyon has become the Wauchope Cricket Club's leading run scorer in total recorded innings, and only the second player to pass the 2500 run milestone for the club in modern times, after former player Dean Boxhall.

Affectionately known as "Dippy", Nathan is a former Wauchope junior player who has progressed through the club into senior ranks, now amassing 123 senior innings from 136 matches played, with thirteen 50s and a century to his name at an average of 23.17.
His tally has included 43 first XI matches for the club, where he is now a regular top order batsman.
At only age 21, Nathan is still to reach the prime of his cricketing career.
"Nathan is the epitome of our community club, and we congratulate him on his effort," said club president Tony Brown.
"He continues a family tradition that has existed for many years, and one of many families from Wauchope who have become synonymous with the club over its 133 year history".
Ironically, father Rod Lyon is also the club's leading wicket taker, with 285 wickets from 174 recorded matches.
