Magpies earned the right to play in the final with strong wins against Wauchope RSL and Comboyne, while BDM had a solid win over Camden Haven before a nail-biting win against the Barbarians. Batting first in the final, BDM could only amass 94 runs, with Magpies' fielding a standout and a superb two overs by Kyle Bray, 4/16, enabling the defending champions to restrict the home side.
In reply the 'Pies lost two early wickets, but a game-clinching partnership between Bray, 53no, and B J Sneider guided them home. A great win from the Port team as they worked together at times to save themselves from some sticky situations.
Other events on the day saw a first-ever dead heat in the 100 metre sprint, where Kade Fenns (Port City) and Beechwood's Jeremy Madden couldn't be separated, while Wauchope's Andrew Murrell took out the longest throw with a 106 metre effort. Tim Harris took out the nearest to pin.
A great day was had by all and the club would like to thank all the sponsors and supporters for their support.
