Ben Simpson will be part of a big competition hosted by Port Macquarie's High Performance Centre.
It's the first round of the NSW Regional Strong Man series.
Owner of the recently opened High Performance Centre, Dean Lawler, said it was only natural progression that saw him look into holding the event in Port Macquarie.
"We've got people coming here who want to get stronger and more powerful so we thought why not look into it," he said.
"It's a good competition to have in Port Macquarie, considering it has never been run here before.
"Besides we have the Ironman here so now we're bringing men of steel."
Port Macquarie will be the first leg of the event, followed by Armidale, Tamworth, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.
While Lawler said the event will attract competitors from all over NSW and the country he said any Hastings residents who think they are up to the challenge can register to participate.
He has already fielded interest from a number of High Performance Centre members.
"Anyone is welcome to sign up," he said.
"Even members from gyms around town, we've had a few already show interest."
The event will consist of different disciplines that will see competitors be involved in a car deadlift, a press medley with a keg, log and axle.
The strong men and women will also perform a yoke and farmers carry challenge and what strong man competition wouldn't have the impressive atlas stones.
"It's going to be really impressive to watch," Lawler said.
"We're expecting a pretty massive crowd." Anyone interested in signing up can check the website strongmanportmacquarie.com.au when it goes live shortly.
