As usual there will be a wide array of community events, with something for everyone to enjoy, said Chrissy Jones from the Wauchope Lasiandra Festival Committee.
The 31st annual festival runs from March 2-29 officially kicking off on Monday as the ladies take to the bowling greens for the Women's Lasiandra Triples at the Wauchope Country Club.
New events and old favourites will be conducted, with an early highlight being the ever popular Lasiandra Rock n Roll Dance at the Wauchope Country Club auditorium from 6.30pm on Saturday March 7.
With music by popular local DJ Chuck E. this promises to be a fun night for the start of the festival with tickets only $5 and a gold coin donation for those under 18.
The Family Fun Day at Yippen Creek Reserve will be held on Saturday, March 14, from 10am.
The Hastings Valley Mini Railway will be in action ensuring a fun morning out for all the family.
Those who go along can ride the mini rail for a small gold coin donation, and children aged two and under ride for free with an adult. All are reminded to please wear covered footwear.
Last year's inaugural Lasiandra Fashion Parade was such a huge success; organisers have once again added it to the program.
The event on Sunday, March 8 will see local fashion houses including Heart to Heart Lingerie, Three Little Birds, Bodilines, Mid Coast Uniforms, Charlize Rose and Studio Lou present their current fashions in a fun atmosphere. Starting at 4.00pm, it promises to be a great afternoon with musical entertainment by Rosa Van der Ley and the students from Wauchope and Port Macquarie Performing Arts.
Entry is just $5.00 per head with loads of lucky door prizes and a raffle on the day.
Events will be previewed and reviewed in the March editions of the Wauchope Gazette.
