The time of year is here when celebrations of Anzac are in full swing. This year is of particular interest because of the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing. Australians are keen to celebrate the memory of our brave heroes who gave so much to preserve our way of life. BUT there was another 'war' that few would know about. That was the war that took place on the waterfronts of Australia.
Australians need to be reminded of the fact that the waterside workers unions had been infiltrated by the Communist and its leaders were subservient to that ideology. Hence, when war came there was much disruption of the loading and unloading of military supplies for our troops overseas. Even ship repairs were sabotaged by the Communist led unions.
When Russia entered the war on the Allies' side the wharf disruptions didn't immediately desist.
It got so bad that Aussie troops were employed to load and unload military supplies.
Because of the shortage of supplies, especially in the New Guinea war theatre, due to wharfie activities, our military suffered needless causalities.
Why is this part of our war history being neglected by toady's political leaders?
