Remember it is a 1pm start next week on April 13.
We had a great roll up of 37 players who hit the greens in balmy conditions, under lights most of the time due to the time change.
The lucky winners were Doris McKinnon and Frank Little / Lynne Hosking.
Unfortunately, Frank had to leave half way through the game as he was unwell. We hope you feel better soon Frank.
The runners up were: Sylvia Wells, Wendy Wallis and new chum Peter Laurie. The lucky losers were the team of Archie McDonald, Pam Dures and Ian Gabriel.
The Jackpot draw went to Rink 7, Col Matt and Stan Galbraith. They chose number 8 but it should have been 11.
So we jackpot to $55 next week.
Raffle winners: Ian Gabriel (who was ordered by partner to select a meat tray, that he had to cook tomorrow) Carol Higgins, Gentleman Jim Fancourt (who took some time to claim his prize due to jet lag I was told), Dot Galbraith (as usual quick off the mark), Beth Gabriel (see above comment, probably took the Bistro Voucher for the same reason) and last but not least, Nancy Everingham,
On April 7, about 18 members enjoyed a great non-bowls get together at Abundance Cafe, Sancrox.
There were lots of laughter and no talk of bowls.
We will continue to promote these functions as they give our members a real chance to get to know one another away from the game.
So when the next one comes up, come along - you won't regret it.
It has been confirmed that we will be hosting a visit from the Zone 8 Travelling Bowlers who hail from a large area around Young in southern NSW on Tuesday May 12.
They are bringing some 44 players plus others.
The sheet is on the board, so please get your names up early.
A flyer with information and cost details is available in the brochure holder attached to the notice board. We have restricted the numbers to a total of 84, i.e. 14 Rinks of Triples. Visitors are welcome but members will receive first priority.
Your committee is in the process of updating the rules we operate under and clarification of our legal status within our mother club.
Most of these matters are raised in a "discussion paper" with answer sheet that is available at the bowls office counter.
If you don't have one, please pick one up, give the matters raised your consideration, complete the answer sheet and place it in the red box on the counter.
See you next time.
