The ninth of May will see us cooking up a storm and enjoying our annual Biggest Morning Tea for the Cancer Council. You should come and sample Brenda's peach cakes and Marlene's famous pumpkin scones. Meeting starts at 10.30 am with entertainment from 12pm by our members and resident backing band. Walk-up artists welcome.
We are looking forward to a combined fundraiser with 2 Way FM on Sunday, June 28 at our sponsor, the Wauchope RSL.
Another date to keep an eye on is Saturday night, September 26, again at Wauchope RSL when we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the formation of the club. We will be having a camp-out on that weekend with details to be confirmed closer to the time. There have been a number of popular country music recording artists with roots in our club and we are hopeful of attracting some.
With some 85 sponsors to acknowledge following our successful roundup, I was upset to learn I had made an unforgivable mistake when I sent the roundup story to the Gazette.
The whipper snipper that was won by the Bevans was of course donated by Hastings Mower Service. Ross Prince is a valued supporter of the HCMA and I hope he will accept my apology.
