The group includes office staff, teachers' aides, general assistants and Aboriginal education officers and this year's theme is "Our jobs, your children, their future".
SASS staff are a dedicated group of professionals who are often overlooked in our schools - patching a skinned knee, putting a smile on a sad face or lending a sympathetic ear.
They play a vital role in taking phone calls, maintaining records, performing administrative tasks, looking after school visitors, sick children, finances and teachers' requests, among many other things.
As Huntingdon Public School principal Gunnar Fuhrmann said his school "couldn't function without our wonderful SASS staff, whether they work in the office, school grounds or in a classroom setting".
"They are not only important to the overall success of our school, but they also play an important role in the welfare and success of our students," he said.
Take the time to give your school's SASS staff a big pat on the back.
