Some of the more creative characters included: The Joker; an Angry Bird; Sponge Bob Squarepants; The Hulk; Thing 1 and Thing 2; Minions; and even a horse.
Elsa, Snow White, witches and Little Red Riding Hood were popular with the girls, while the boys took full advantage of the opportunity dress as their favourite superhero.
In the Gazette's novice opinion best dressed went to popular kindergarten teacher Mr Beard, who dressed as Madeleine, complete with pleated school tunic, hat and freckles.
