The final was abandoned due to heavy rain, and because the Hastings team was ranked higher than the Lismore Workers, the victory went our way.
Tony Brown said he'd never played in such heavy rain and it became dangerous at one point when, after hitting a pull shot six, the bat slipped out of Brown's hand and hit the opposition wicketkeeper in the upper body.
"He was lucky he didn't lose his teeth," Brown said.
On the way to the final, the Wauchoppers beat West Rangers and the Koori Male (a play on words referring to the Courier Mail).
