Committee member Chrissy Jones said two working bees have been organised for October 10-11 and October 17-18 to give the park, and its amenities, the TLC it deserves. "We would be grateful for any time locals could spare to help out, even if it's just half an hour's painting," Mrs Jones said. "On the first weekend, we're hoping to give the gazebo a good clean and sand back and then the following weekend we will be painting.
"Thanks to Dulux rep Michael Faulls all of the paint we need has been kindly donated."
Mrs Jones said the park will be "purplified" in keeping with the lasiandra theme.
"We're going to freshen up all of the seating and barbecue areas so people can enjoy the park again," she said.
The handful of volunteers who make up the committee had been planning and saving over a long period to build a new barbecue and seating area at the Cameron Street park.
Unfortunately, those funds have now had to be funnelled into repairs.Tradespeople, local businesses and residents are urged to step in and help the embattled committee with donations of materials, equipment or just manpower.
