The same criticism was raised when the gardens were put around the Hastings Street trees, a much nicer visual improvement.
One solution to parking spaces would be to open up a portion of the empty railway yard at the bottom of High Street.
Put a two-hour time limit on parking in the CBD so that those who leave their cars all day could use it.
That would also clean up an area that has been an eyesore for decades.
Considering the fact that if our CBD does not get an upgrade, become more visually and user friendly to shoppers', parking will be the least of shop keepers concerns when, in a couple of years, a brand new Plaza opens in Sovereign Hills only 10 minutes away.
