The two boat crews battled it out in good, yet challenging, conditions during the Saturday competition.
The women's crew, consisting of Sammy Dimond, Bella Millar, Hannah Reid, Angela Eke and swept by Steve Monaghan, had to be withdrawn from the afternoon races after the boat overturned during the morning's heats.
Unfortunately they didn't earn enough points to proceed to the finals.
There were a lot of spills over the weekend in the tricky conditions.
The men's crew, consisting of Simon Stennett, Angus Knox, Drouin Pike, Sean Dickson, Dane Elliot and swept by Wayne Dickson, were aggressive in the surf.
They rowed their way into the semi finals, finishing fourth in a tight race and just missing out on a place in the final.
Other competitors for WBHSLSC were: Trent Seale, who paddled well in the men's masters ski event and finished with a third place in the final; Hugh Stewart who had a great competition and finished third in his Ironman and board finals; and Taylor Sargeant who finished third in her Ironwoman event and fifth in her board race. Congratulations to all competitors and big thanks to the supporters who travelled up to cheer them on.
Your help and encouragement is appreciated.
