As 2015 draws to a close, Wauchope Tennis Club president Mike Trotter says it's appropriate to reflect on where the club is, and where it plans to be in the short to medium term.

"This year has seen our club continue to attract new members and to cater for players of all abilities in our various competitions," he said.
"We have also seen a small, but willing group of members engaged in ongoing maintenance of our Rex Clark Complex.
"This has included replacing damaged flooring in the clubhouse, court cleaning and fence repairs, all of which is much appreciated by members."
Mr Trotter said the committee has identified a number of areas that require attention, the first being the removal of an asbestos storage shed.
"Secondly, the rather unsightly fence at the front of our clubhouse will be replaced with a modern alloy fence and gate," he said.
"The third project will be the total refurbishment of our southern courts. This work will be completed by a contractor over the Christmas period and will bring these courts back to their original condition.
"The final project will be the repair of our northern courts in order to extend their playing life until such time as we have the funds to do a total replacement."
The club continues to apply for sporting grants, and Mr Trotter said members will be meeting with Member for Oxley, Melinda Pavey, in early December to discuss funding options.
As reported in the Gazette last week, the club has also welcomed Greg Alchin's coaching team, with continued services offered by long-term coach Bob Hough.
With 2015 competition wrapping up in coming weeks, Mr Trotter welcomed new players for their 2016 competitions.
He also welcomed community groups looking for a "fun and relaxed end of year venue".
"We make our facility available to community groups at very reasonable rates and that could well include court hire as well as use of our clubhouse and kitchen," he said.
