"It has been tough going," said Murphy, who sustained a shoulder injury late last year which saw him out of contention for the goalkeepers spot in the under-13s NSW State Indoor Hockey team.
"I was still selected as a shadow which was a good show of faith in my ability. I have undergone an intensive rehabilitation program including core strength and fitness - I am feeling great".
Murphy, who is currently training up to six times a week in the lead up to selections, concedes that it will be a big ask to be selected in the NSW State Team as a bottom of age 15s player.

Dylan has a big year ahead, having been asked to play 'A' Grade for South Newcastle this season in the highly competitive Newcastle league as well as playing each week in the local Port Macquarie competition.

"I under-15s Australian National under-15s Hockey Championships will be contested in Wollongong in April.
