First Grade are currently enjoying the second half of a two week bye, and Second Grade are playing Bonny Hills, current ladder leaders, in an effort to maintain touch with the finalists towards the back end of the season.
WRSLCC Vice President Matt Day, said an Old Boys Day is something the club has been talking about for a while.
"Many of our veterans are still playing" said Day. "Life Members like Ken Ogilvie, Brian Fowler and Merv Bourke are all taking the field this weekend."
Playing cricket every Saturday afternoon is a big commitment on not only the body but on weekend life, and WRSLCC know there are many past players who still yearn for the crack of leather on willow, but just can't get there often enough.
"It would be fantastic to see some of our past players and supporters come and spend 5 minutes or a few hours" said Day.
"A day celebrating our past players is a fantastic opportunity to catch up with an old mate or an old foe, have a yarn and tell a few lies".
Following a wet week last week, WRSLCC are hoping the weather gods are on their side.
The game is scheduled for a 1pm start, and with early forecasts proclaiming a fine weekend, the club look forward to seeing many past players and supporters on under the fig trees on Andrews Park.
