The weather was perfect, and everyone enjoyed the beauty the Hastings River has to offer.
The cruise was the first event on the HBWN Calendar for 2016. It was a wonderful opportunity for members to reconnect after the summer holidays.
The event was relaxing and social as new members and guests were greeted by event poppys who made them feel welcome.
HBWN member, Rebecca Rowsthorne, of Junk Cruises/Port Venture Cruises hosted the first event of the year on the River Princess.
"As a new member it was lovely to see how engaged and welcoming everyone was," she said.
"The night was picture perfect with a fabulous sunset, but the camaraderie aboard was the best part."
The calendar of events was introduced by the HBWN Committee. HBWN events are held the last Thursday of the month at various venues and times. Events rotate between breakfast, lunch and cocktail hour to accommodate as many businesswomen as possible.
A small and informal "Coffee Catch Up" at Westport Club is the last Tuesday of every month from 10 to 11am. The coffee event is free and open to everyone. It is a great place to start and see what the HBWN has to offer.
"The first half of 2016 is a mix of networking events to help members get to know one another better and professional development events to give members knowledge and tools to be more successful in the year to come," said Events Coordinator, Therese Pearce.
The Professional Development program for 2016 has added benefits to members this year. Continuing a partnership with North Coast TAFE gives local women access to the latest information on leadership and personal growth.
"We have created a program that includes expert panel discussions, workshops, online community support and mentoring," Ms Pearce said.
"Women will get more out of a program that is interactive and includes group events plus individual support.
The list of events can be found on the HBWN website and Facebook page. Visit www.hbwn.com.au for more information.
