In other news the Blues hosted the Wingham Tigers over the long weekend and had some pleasing results throughout the day.
The girls started the day on a winning note, completely shutting Wingham out of the game with a massive 60 to nill win.
It was a great team effort from the Wauchope girls starting the game with only eleven players and finishing with ten on the field through injury. Whitney Smith was a standout for the Blues earning herself 3 points and players player.
Other points went to Nat Hurrell (2) and Emily Lester and Nicara Donovan picked up 1 point each.
The under 18's continued their winning form with another solid performance.
The young Blues piled on the points with a 48 to 12 victory over a Wingham team that was down on numbers.
Front rower Kobi Hugen was a stand out for the Blues as he ran rampant over the Tigers defence.
Patrick Roche picked up the players player award for a second week in a row also scoring a hatrick of tries on the day. In the Reserve grade the Blues picked up another victory narrowly winning 30 to 28.
The match was played down to the dying seconds with the Blues able to hold out the Wingham attack to win the game.
With the scores locked up at 28 all with 2 minutes remaining the Blues got a penalty 40 meters out. With a strong wind behind them a call for a penalty kick came out and Blues halfback Nick Knox stepped up to the challenge.
The kick never looked like missing as the Blues went 2 points ahead with only a minute left on the clock.
Wingham attempted a short kick off but as time ran out the Blues held on and got the victory. Looking for a clean sweep for the day first grade faced off against the competition leaders.
The Blues put in a solid performance however they were unable to post their first win of the year narrowly losing to the Tigers 34- 30.
Coach Jason Holland was pleased with the teams effort and stated that while it's frustrating to watch them lose he can see there is improvment every week and a win is just around the corner.
Mat Bird was best on park for the Blues closely followed in the points by Beau Kettle. Kobi Hugen and Mark Bell were commended by coach Holland for the effort they are putting in as under 18's players playing up into first grade.
The Blues will enjoy this weekend off as the representative games are held and will travel to Foster Tuncurry the following week to continue the 2016 season.
