IT has been dubbed another successful and inspiring year for the youth of the Mid North Coast.
The 2016 instalment of the Luminosity Youth Summit was attended by more students than ever, all in search of knowledge and advice as they prepare to tackle life after school.
Andrew Morello knows a thing or two about success. He was the winner of season one of The Apprentice, and has invest properties in Sydney and Melbourne.
Not only did he MC Luminosity for the fourth year in a row, he took it upon himself to spend quality time with as many students as he could.
“I really love Luminosity. I’ve spoken at literally thousands of events over the past ten years and it’s one of the best I do internationally,” he said.
“It’s well run, it’s got some of the best speakers in the world and the energy in the room is amazing. 2016 was another great year.”
He said that kids attend whole hearted and get massively inspired by the event.
“They get a lot of inspiration and motivation but I like to get one-on-one with them during breaks,” he said.
“They’re all open to being mentored and you can hear the shift where they really want to make change.”
Organiser Kate Wood-Foye said without the support of their sponsors the event would not be possible.
“We couldn’t thank our sponsors enough for making Luminosity possible for a fourth year,” she said.
“Young people today face a different future and businesses who support Luminosity are part of an exciting initiative which helps youth reach their full potential.
“We want to equip young people with enterprising skills and start the conversation to lead them to brighter futures. For Luminosity Young Gun graduates - anything is possible.”
She said that the crew behind the scenes are very thankful and they have no doubt it will grow.
“It feels like that, after four years of hard work, everything has fallen into place,” she said.
“The feedback from kids has been awesome. We had almost 300 attendees this year. I have no doubt it will be bigger next year.”
