Individuals, groups and organisations have the chance to be recognised for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Port Macquarie-Hastings.

Now in its 17th year, the Port Macquarie Hastings Sports Awards includes the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Wayne Richards Sporting Scholarship, boosting the total prize money to $7000.

The new and improved online system has been made simpler with the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie Sunrise and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council joining forces and we look forward to uncovering sporting talent and making a positive difference to enable these sports heroes to realise their dreams.

These highly sought after awards now include eight (8) categories.

Rotary Club of Port Macquarie Sunrise President Trish Affleck-Mooney announced the awards are at Panthers Port Macquarie on Friday 28 October.

Mayor Peter Besseling said the awards reinforce the importance of helping local athletes pursue their dreams.

“Sport is a significant part of our local fibre and we’ve seen many previous recipients and runners-up go on to not only represent Australia, but achieve podium finishes and reach the height of success,” he said.

“This year all nomination entries will need to be submitted online at pmhc.nsw.gov.au/2016wrss no later than Friday September 30.”

Entries for this year’s awards can be completed online and close September 30 at 5pm.

The event is on Friday August 5, at Port Macquarie Surf Life Saving Club. Doors and bar facilities open at 5.30pm for 6.30pm start. 

Tickets cost $120 per table. Tables can hold a maximum of eight people.
