As you drive along Hastings River Drive, be sure to stop and have a look at the progress of the upgrade to the Port Macquarie Regional Indoor Stadium.
It’s great to see the stadium reaching a major milestone with construction more than 50 per cent complete.
At this half-way mark, it is even more evident the upgrade will provide modern, state of the art facilities for user groups and the wider community.
Facilities will include six courts, new multi-purpose and activity rooms, offices, amenities and a kiosk.
The project will deliver a world-class regional facility to showcase local, state and national talent across a variety of sports in early 2017.
To view how works are progressing, head over to pmhclistening.com.au/indoor-stadium and have a look at the Indoor Stadium time lapse video.
Event sponsorship grants
Applications for Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s event sponsorship program close at midnight Wednesday August 31.
If you have a great event idea and would like some help to navigate the approval process or advice on event planning and budgeting, council has one-on-one sessions available to talk through your plans and ideas.
Successful applications will receive $5000 for event marketing activities to assist in the attraction of year-round events.
The program has supported many local events since it started in early 2015, including Big Band Blast, Ekam Yoga Festival and Slice of Haven.
These events are an important part of promoting our region, so if you have an event that will contribute to advancing the Port Macquarie-Hastings as an event destination we’d like to hear from you.
To apply for the event sponsorship grant, download the event organiser’s toolkit or book your one-on-one information session visit pmhc.nsw.gov.au/eventsponsorship
