A nine week program will start on Monday October 17 concluding in December.
Organiser Jason Berry said the Aussie Hoops program is for primary-school aged children and will kick off at the Wauchope indoor stadium.
“This learn to play program will be held on Monday afternoon from 4.45pm until 5.45pm,” he said.
“It will suit children aged between five years and 12 years with age-appropriate programs hosted on adjacent courts.
“The cost is $85 for all new players which includes an exciting participants’ pack while the cost is $65 for any returning players from the Port Macquarie sessions in previous terms.”
Berry said nationally accredited coaches with experienced junior representative players assisting were a feature of the program.
He said the Aussie Hoops program provides fantastic preparation for participation in the junior domestic competition.
Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia’s official junior game development program for children aged 5–10 years.
Aussie Hoops enables participants of all abilities and ages the opportunity to learn basketball in a structured, inclusive and safe environment, developing physical fitness, social skills and an understanding of the sport while having fun.
