This is the third year of the awards and are connected to the new theatre company directed by Greta Warner – Creating in the Hastings, a stage for everyone.
“The encouragement awards were fantastic to see and there were so many performers on the day," Greta said.
“Importantly, this is an inclusive group and the range of performers on the day was vast.”
Duets Billy Axford and Shannon Beck along with Roxy and Michael Montgomery took out the $500 award and happily split the prize money.
Other awards included Adam Smith and Kirsty Georgia, a clown act that bought the house down and Samara Vollack, who has an incredible voice.
The encouragement panel included Robin van Loggerenberg and Angus Gill.
Anyone interested in this new theatre group you can contact Julie on 0416 019 828. The first show under the Creating in the Hastings banner will be Santa's Elves in December.
Sponsors of the day included The Framer/ Arts supplies, Gore Street Port Macquarie, C2A.com.au, the Wauchope RSL and the Conservatorium Mid North Coast.
