A councillor from Wauchope has voiced the frustration of many people in the town who want to know when the outdoor swimming pool will re-open.

Cr Sharon Griffiths says she’s been given no reason for the delay.
“When the pool closed for the upgrade last May, the council said it would re-open in October.
“We are now into the second week in January, the school holidays are on, the weather is very hot and the pool is still closed.
“It would be good to see it open as soon as possible. I have asked council officials what is causing the delay and not got answers.
“We keep hearing promises from the council, but we are not seeing things improve,” she added.
Councillor Griffiths is reflecting the concern of many local people who have left comments on the Wauchope Gazette Facebook page.
“What has been the hold-up?” asked Annie Gainsford.
“I hope it’s before the holidays end,” wrote Trish Thomas.
Replying to the council’s comment last week that the pool will open ‘very soon”, Joy Stennett replied: “They have been telling us that for months. I still say if this pool was in Port, it would have been finished for the holidays.”
